By 26 February, 2020

Fresh from dropping their new album, Orígenes, on Feb 14th, Sotomayor performed at Mexico’s Carnaval de Bahidorá, offering attendees their first change to hear the album live. Bahidorá has established itself as one of Latin America’s go-to festivals with an incredible atmosphere and a line-up that brings together some of the most exciting names in Latin music (as our reviewer discovered). Sotomayor were in charge of opening the festival for their 8th edition, and getting the party started.

In this exclusive video interview Sotomayor discuss the making of their new album, how it incorporated Puerto Rican influences, and may well be their most “Latin” and danceable album to date, as well as their experience of playing its songs for the first time at Bahidorá.

Check out the interview, and get a taste of Carnaval, in the video below:

Orígenes is out now on Wonderwheel Recordings
