PREMIÈRE: First Listen to Vitu Valera Track from New Matraca Global Release
17 March, 2020Prepare yourself for the latest edition of Matraca Global on Peruvian imprint Matraca Netlabel. This second instalment, is heavily inspired by the sound of the Brazilian streets, with touches of Bahia bass and baile funk. The 3-track EP features contributions from Chile (Lampone), Peru (Vitu Valera) and of course, Brazil (Larinhx), but it’s that Peruvian track we want to focus on here.
“Xixi & Ahñé”, by Vitu Valera, explores the African heritage of both his native Peru and Brazil. It’s an Amazonian adventure with just a few sparks of urban elements, being the most folkloric of the tracks on the EP, alongside the carioca juke of Lampone and Larinhx’s deep baile funk featuring MC Belly & MC Mazzoni.
