PREMIÈRE: Polony Add Power and Instant Satisfaction on Latest Single

By Valdomiro Valle 15 May, 2020

Young Peruvian band Polony have released a new single to signal that their project must be taken seriously. Almost a year after the release of “Quizás”, a song that mixed 00s indie with easy listening pop rock, they have returned with “Pasajeros”, a single that adds more power and instant satisfaction.

In its constant intensity, “Pasajeros” tells the story of a couple who, in their union, find the necessary confidence to move forward in an unfavourable context (“somos pasajeros perdiendo el miedo / y el mundo está por estallar” / “we are passengers losing fear / and the world is about to explode”). Whether accidentally or not, the song’s themes chime with the times in which we are living.

“Pasajeros” is accompanied by a video self-produced by the band, where a collage of sped-up images from different parts of the world give the right accompaniment to the chaotic feelings that the song provides, while also overcoming the limitations of these quarantine times.

Polony’s larger-than-life choruses seem to ask to be chanted by the public, so we look forward to hearing in the near future if they can bring that energy to their live performances.
