Mr Bongo Website Launched
11 November, 2011Mr Bongo have released a number of quality Brazilian film and music releases over the years. In the past it’s been a little tricky to find out more about those releases. Well, not anymore. They have just released a brand new Mr Bongo website which makes it easy to buy some fine DVDs, vinyl and CDs.
Recently Mr Bongo have been responsible for releasing many records from the ridiculously-good Rozenblit catalogue in Brazil. These releases have offered a great way of enjoying the psychedelic rock movement that existed in Pernambuco in the 70s and that was largely fuelled by the ideas and creativity of Lula Cortes, but also included such notable names as Tom Zé, Geraldo Azevedo, Alçeu Valença and Zé Ramalho.
They have also released records by AfroReggae, Jorge Ben, Dom Um Romao, Cravo e Canela, Seu Jorge, Marcos Valle and Joyce, as well as some really interesting compilations.
And it doesn’t stop with the music as they have additionally been responsible for releasing three films by Glauber Rocha; Antonio Das Mortes, Black God White Devil and Entranced Earth (Terra em Transe), which are all available to buy in DVD on the site.
