Coco Maria’s ‘Oh, Carolina!’ Mix

By 02 September, 2019

After knocking it out of the park with her Noche de Luna en Jalapa mixtape, bringing back memories of a youth spent growing up in Mexico, Coco Maria is back to offer us another journey into Latin American music. This time she is getting thematic, collecting together all the songs from across the continent that happen to be about a certain lady called Carolina. The result is a diverse, yet playful, mix that moves through samba, cha-cha-cha, mambo, champeta, bossa jazz and plenty more styles, showing that you’re never too far away from a Carolina.

Here’s Coco Maria to introduce the mix:

“After many years of collecting and searching for records, I kept bumping into songs dedicated to a certain lady called Carolina. But… who is she? Where is she?

This is a mix of songs from Latin America, all about ‘Carolina’, for all the Carolina’s we have met and who have inspired us. Teachers, sisters, lovers, neighbours, friends of friends. Dedicated to all of them!

Enjoy”
