Tofu Resistance’s Blissful ‘Ecos Del Mundo’ Downtempo Mix

By 28 June, 2017

I have to admit to knowing very little about Tofu Resistance, the German DJ responsible for this, the latest mix in Tepeme Música‘s Ecos del Mundo series. Aside from a handful of tracks on Bandcamp and Soundcloud there is very little info about the producer online. However, this doesn’t stop this from being one beautiful mix of downtempo grooves from around the world, though with a clear focus on downtempo from and inspired by Latin America.

It’s a mix that aims to emulate the Sanskrit word ‘pracchardana’, an ancient term that means to inhale and exhale. In this way the mix reflects our breathing, its rhythms are presented in unison with nature and our bodily processes.

Clearly Tofu Resistance is a DJ in touch with the globally-based Latin American downtempo scene that seems to keep going from strength to strength with artists from as distant countries as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador and Peru, as well as the rest of the world, offering their own take on ambient electronica inspired by the natural world.
