Lexus Blondin’s Afro-Cuban Jazz Mix

By 14 April, 2017

With Daymé Arocena set to play London’s Jazz Cafe tonight (14th April) supporting DJ Lexus Blondin (Total Refreshment Centre / Church of Sound) has put together this mighty fine mix of Afro-Cuban jazz.

The mix, put together for Música Macondo, highlights the moment in New York City when the pioneers of bebop started working with Cuban immigrants in the late 40s, adding jazz virtuosity and structure to Cuban rhythms with breathless results.
