Argentine Cinema Panel at East End Film Festival

By | 26 June, 2013

Sandwiched between screenings of Armando Bo’s The Last Elvis and Matias Pineiro’s Viola on Thursday 27th June will be a discussion between the Argentine directors Bo and Pineiro, as well as Argentine screenwriter Alejandro Fidel and S&C’s Sofia Serbin de Skalon, who also happens to be the organiser of the Argentine Film Festival in London. The event will be part of the East End Film Festival, which is happening in London from June 25th until July 10th.

Here’s the blurb from the EEFF:

Join the EEFF at the Barbican for a discussion of what makes Argentina one of world cinema’s most important cinematic movements, and how the country has overcome military juntas and economic collapse to become a remarkably productive filmmaking powerhouse. With a panel featuring Armando Bo, Matias Pineiro, Alejandro Fidel, Sofia de Skalon (London Argentine Film Festival), the panel will accompany the London Premiere of Pineiro’s wonderful play on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Viola.
