Azymuth prepare for European tour

By 19 October, 2010

Azymuth are one of Brazil’s great institutions. They seem to have been making great music forever. Deemed “crazy samba” by themselves, their music is a mix of samba and jazz, as if Marcos Valle or Zeca Pagodinho set off with Jaco Pastorius and Wayne Shorter to the beach in order to chill, while presumably having the odd toke on the old wacky backy. Since starting in the 70s Azymuth have been making gloriously vibrant, grooving jazz, and seem to have no desire to stop, as they will be heading to Europe this October, starting in Bristol on Friday 22nd October.
