Dengue Dengue Dengue! To Embark On Maiden European Tour

By 11 June, 2013

This month, the Peruvian duo Dengue Dengue Dengue! will embark on their first ever tour of Europe to bring their psychedelic tropical cumbia sound to the continent.

Formed in 2010, Dengue Dengue Dengue! are renowned for their vibrant live performances, donning striking masks in audiovisual shows which are half DJ set and half live, remixing and making mash-ups from their own tracks and accompanied by live visuals (created by VJ Sixta for this tour).

Their music, showcased in their debut La Alianza Profana (read our review here), fuses the psychedelic sounds of 70s Peruvian cumbia with the deep bass of dub, UK bass and the modern sounds of techno and dancehall music.

Starting in the UK’s Londonderry festival, they will be playing a host of venues and festivals in the two-month stint, including a gig at Brixton’s Hootananny in London on the 20th July and an appearance Berlin’s Wassermusik Festival Berlin on July 28.
