Lola Arias’ New Play MINEFIELD at Royal Court Theatre 2nd-11th of June

By 26 May, 2016

Lola Arias, one of Argentina’s leading theatre writers and directors, explores the minefield of memory, mixing truth and fiction, in her new play MINEFIELD, a collaborative effort that combines theatre and film, and has been commissioned for LIFT 2016, where it will be running from 2nd June until 11th June at the Jerwood Theatre.

Arias’ new work focuses on the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas) war with the participation of Argentinian and British veterans, who share their first-hand experience of the conflict and their life afterwards. The only thing that connects these people is that they are all veterans, as each of them followed a different path after their experience of the war.

Investigating the personal impact of war, Arias examines how and what people remember.

MINEFIELD, produced by LIFT, will be hosted at Royal Court Theatre from 2nd to 11th of June. For more information and tickets: royalcourttheatre.com/whats-on/minefield
