New Karina Buhr album expected in October

By | 12 August, 2011

The first Karina Buhr album, Eu Mentí Pra Voce was one of our favourite albums of 2010. It’s no wonder then that we are very excited to hear that a new album will be released this October.

Since the release of Eu Mentí Pra Voce Karina has been touring the album with an extended band including the guitarists Edgard Scandurra and Fernando Catatau, as well as the trumpet player Guizado. It’s this band that will join her for the album. The full band that have recorded the new album therefore are:
Karina Buhr (vocals)
Bruno Buarque (drums)
Mau Pregnolatto (bass)
Edgard Scandurra (guitar)
Fernando Catatau (guitar)
André Lima (keyboards)
Guizado (trumpet)

The album was recorded between February and July 2011 in Sao Paulo with production by Karina, Bruno Buarque and Mau Pregnolatto, and support from Natura Musical. The release of the album in October will be accompanied by shows in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Porto Alegre and Campinas.

While we wait for the release, here’s a little something off her first album, a live rendition of “O Pé” and “Vira Pó”:
