New York Times comes over all all Latino with Latin American issue

By 18 September, 2010

The Latin American Issue of the New York Times features quite a few interesting articles about South America, so good that we figured they were definitely worth getting a news item on Sounds and Colours. Seth Kugel has been travelling through South and Central America for the past 13 weeks, calling himself the ‘Frugal Traveller’ due to his plans to spend as little money as possible. You can read about the highs and lows of his journey HERE.

Following on from Mr Frugal there is an article called Strategies to Stretch Your Dollar in South America. It’s probably worth a read for anyone interested in travelling around South America without spending much but it is a bit lightweight in its suggestions, some of which involve using tour companies which is surely something that can be missed altogether if you are interested in saving your money. Anyway, the article is HERE if fancy reading it.

A few more articles highlight activities in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. In Brazil is 36 Hours in Rio de Janeiro, a short guide to give you some ideas of things to do while in the party capital. Read the article HERE. The boutiques of Lima in Peru feature in Lima’s Hidden Ateliers HERE. The ice cream parlours of Buenos Aires are discussed in Buenos Aires: National Treasure in a Cone which can be found HERE. Lastly the amazing sights on Colombia’s pacific coast are beholden in On the Colombian Coast, Natural Beauty, Gritty Charm which can be read right HERE.
