WIN Wakolda Tickets

By 04 April, 2014

Wakolda is the latest film from acclaimed Argentine writer/director Lucía Puenzo. Perhaps best known for XXY, an engrossing drama about gender and identity, Puenzo’s latest is a dramatic retelling of a love story between a young girl and Josef Mengele.

Entitled The German Doctor in English, Wakolda tells the story of a family who lived with one of the World’s most notorious criminals, Josef Mengele (aka the “Angel of Death”), without ever knowing his true identity.

When a scientist befriends an Argentine family, and in particular their daughter Lilith, they have no idea that they are striking up a friendship with one of the world’s most terrifying war criminals. As he starts to penetrate their everyday life and offer growth hormone therapy to Lilith, the father of the family starts to become suspicious of this seemingly charming man.

We have a pair of tickets to give away for Wakolda‘s screening at The Barbican on April 10th. More details at barbican.org.uk/film/event-detail.asp?ID=16130
