Chile Makes The New York Times Places to Go in 2012 List

By 19 January, 2012

The New York Times, recently featured an article listing the top places to go in 2012 and Chile was among the article’s highlights. Chilean Patagonia has built a reputation for being one of the world’s ultimate travel destinations for those who seek adventure, and major publications everywhere are talking about it.

“With its mix of snowy peaks, pristine rain forest and network of virgin national parks, Chile is emerging as one of the world’s adventure hot spots and now has a spate of rugged luxury lodges in which adventure-seekers can stay,” says The New York Times.

The feature also discusses how adventure travel does not have to mean roughing it. It highlights the Tierra Patagonia hotel located on the eastern border of the Torres del Paine Park. Tierra Patagonia is far from the ordinary hotel. Not only does it provide guests with a place to stay, it offers tourists adventurous excursions like horseback riding across the Patagonian steppe and boat outings.

However, the whole stay at Tierra Patagonia is not just filled with the rough outdoorsy stuff, tourists can also find relaxation and comfort as well. With features like a heated indoor pool, spa, and luxury all inclusive packages travelers get to experience both the exhilarating challenge of thrilling expeditions as well as having some time to pamper themselves. While Tierra Patagonia is one of Patagonia’s famed attractions, it is one among many sites that tourists can choose from during their Chile travel.
