The Mystical Baptism of Recife’s Feiticeiro Julião

Feiticeiro Julião are a group from Recife, Pernambuco uniting pop, jazz and psychedelic flavours for a pretty intoxicating mix. Led by singer/multi-instrumentalist Júlio Castilho, who also happens to be the son of a senator (Humberto Costa), with Hildelarques on saxophone and Rachel Bourbon on vocals, the group’s sound is not too far from the tropicalismo of Os Mutantes.

Last week they released this hyperactive clip for “Vou Tirar Você (Da Cara)”:
