New Albums from Eddie and A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade and three Brazilian music compilations available for download

By 07 November, 2011

Normally we would try and write a seperate post for all of these new releases, but frankly new Brazilian music is coming at us too thick and fast to waste too much time. So, we’ve lumped all of these new releases together. Let’s start with Eddie.

Eddie are quite simply one of our favourite bands from Brazil, mixing a rock ‘n’ roll attitude with Nordestino rhythms. A new album from them is a big deal, so we’re very excited to listen to Veraneio, their latest effort. The album features collaborations with Otto, Karina Buhr, Lira and DJ Dolores. Here’s a taster, in the shape of “Ele Vai Dancar” featuring Lira:

A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade became one of the overnight sensations of Brazil when they released their video to “Oracao” earlier this year. Watch that iconic video below:

Other interesting releases this week include Som do Norte – a compilation of new music from the North of Brazil, Hominis Canidae’s collection of the best new Brazilian music entitled Coletanea #17 – Outubro and an all-Brazilian cover version of the Strokes Is This It entitled Is This Indie. All of these albums are free to download or stream.
