By 26 June, 2012

Afro-Peruvian collective, Novalima, are set to bring their sultry sound to SOBs in New York City on July 8 as part of their summer tour in the United States. Get prepped for the show by downloading a special remix of “Diablo,” by Xakosa.

The original single appears on their third full-length album, Karimba, which we reviewed here at the turn of the year.

Karimba (ESL music) has garnered much warranted media buzz while topping the iTunes World Music Chart and cracking the top 10 Billboard World Music Chart.

Novalima bring together Afro-Peruvian roots music with modern electronic, dub, and afro-beat. Its founders, Ramon Perez-Prieto, Grimaldo Del Solar, Rafael Morales, and Carlos Li Carrillo, became friends while in high school in Lima. Read more about the band on their site.
